Pure Moonga Silk, known for its durability, lightweight feel, and distinct, rich texture that drapes beautifully around the silhouette.

Dry Clean Only: This is the most important rule. Moonga silk is a delicate natural fiber, and the golden zari work can tarnish or get damaged if washed with water or harsh detergents at home.

Spot Cleaning: If you stain the saree, do not rub the area with water or soap. Blot it gently with a dry tissue and take it to a professional dry cleaner immediately.

2. Ironing
Low Heat: Always use a low to medium heat setting on your iron.

Use a Cloth Barrier: Never place the iron directly onto the silk or zari. Place a thin, clean cotton cloth over the saree while ironing to prevent burning or adding an unnatural shine.

Iron on Reverse: It is safer to iron the saree on the reverse side to protect the sheen of the front.

3. Storage
Breathable Fabric: Store the saree wrapped in a pure cotton or muslin cloth (often called a potli or saree bag). This allows the fabric to breathe and prevents any moisture buildup that could lead to fungus.

Avoid Plastic: Never store silk sarees in plastic bags for long periods, as trapped moisture can discolor the zari.

Change the Folds: Every 3 to 4 months, take the saree out, air it in a shaded area (avoid direct sunlight), and refold it. This prevents permanent creases from forming, which can weaken the fabric fibers over time.
